Terms of Service
Last updated 24 August 2026
The short version. Launchprep reports problems it finds. It does not make your application secure, compliant, or fit to launch — those remain your responsibility, and a clean result is not a guarantee of anything. Our liability is limited to what you paid us.
1Who you are contracting with
These terms are between you and Bc. Bektur Aibekov, trading as Launchprep, of Příčná 1892/4, 110 00 Praha, Czech Republic, business identification number IČO 29522471. By downloading, running, or purchasing Launchprep you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use it.
2What the service is
Launchprep is a command-line tool that reads a codebase and reports findings drawn from published security, engineering, and regulatory standards.
- The free tier runs entirely on your machine, at no charge, without an account, and with no usage limit
- The paid tier adds checks that require analysis by a language model, a hosted report, a continuous-integration gate, and a defined allowance of deep reviews
The number of checks, their content, and the composition of each tier may change as standards and frameworks change.
3Your licence
On payment you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the paid tier, for yourself or for the organisation that paid, for as long as these terms are observed. The licence includes:
- the deep-review allowance stated at purchase — currently five deep reviews, each used once
- updates to the rule set for twelve months from purchase
Your deep reviews are used once each and are not renewed. Separately, for twelve months you receive new rules as they are written; after that your licence, the free tier and every rule you already have keep working exactly as before — you simply stop getting new ones added unless you renew. Allowances are per licence. Do not share, resell, or publish your licence key.
4What you must not do
- Scan a codebase you do not own or have permission to analyse
- Use Launchprep to find weaknesses in systems you are not authorised to test
- Resell, sublicense, or offer the paid tier as your own service without written agreement
- Attempt to circumvent licensing, allowances, or access controls
You are responsible for anything done with your licence key.
5Price, tax, and payment
The price is shown at checkout before you pay. Prices are in US dollars. We are not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is added at checkout. Where tax becomes chargeable it will be calculated at your location's rate and shown before payment. Payment is taken by our payment processor; we do not handle card details.
6Refunds and cancellation
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom you normally have fourteen days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. Because your licence key is delivered immediately, you will be asked at checkout to consent to immediate delivery and to acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once delivery begins. If you do not consent, we will delay delivery until the period ends.
Beyond that: if Launchprep does not work for you, email hello@launchprep.dev within 30 days and we will refund you. We would rather refund you than argue.
7What Launchprep does not promise
A clean result is not a certificate. Launchprep reports what it detects. It cannot detect everything, it does not test a running system, and it cannot know your business context. A scan finding no issues does not mean your application is secure, lawful, or ready to launch.
In particular:
- Launchprep does not provide legal advice. References to statutes and penalty amounts are general information, not advice about your situation. Consult a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction
- Launchprep does not make your application compliant with GDPR, the CCPA, or any other law
- Findings may include false positives; suggested fixes may not suit your architecture. Review them before acting
- Responsibility for your application, its security, and its lawfulness remains entirely yours
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Launchprep — whether in contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise — is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption, nor for any security incident, regulatory penalty, or third-party claim affecting your application, whether or not Launchprep reported a related finding.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
9Availability and changes
The free tool runs on your machine and does not depend on us being online. Paid features depend on our systems, which we do not guarantee to be uninterrupted. We may change or discontinue paid features; if we discontinue a feature you paid for and cannot offer a comparable replacement, we will refund you on a pro-rata basis.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to licence holders at least 30 days before taking effect. Continuing to use Launchprep after that means you accept them.
10Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate a licence that breaches section 4, that is shared or resold, or that is used unlawfully. You may stop using Launchprep at any time. Sections 7, 8 and 11 survive termination.
11Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic, and the courts of the Czech Republic have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules in your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings there.
Consumers in the European Union may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform. We would prefer you email us first.
